Jetstar touches down at Western Sydney International for trial flight

Jetstar’s A320 touched down at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport on September 7, 2026, marking the start of trial operations eight weeks ahead of the first commercial passenger flight on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Arriving from Melbourne at 9:30am, the flight is part of an end-to-end readiness effort with the WSI team, including simulating arrivals, taxi routes, aerobridge alignment, and aircraft turnaround procedures. Jetstar Chief Pilot Tyrone Simes said crews are flying the same profile that passengers will experience in October to refine procedures before launch. From opening day, Jetstar plans up to 14 weekly services to Melbourne, daily flights to the Gold Coast, and three to Brisbane using Airbus A320s.
