London's best airport is opening its first ever luxury lounge
London City Airport announced it is opening its first-ever luxury pre-flight lounge, expanding amenities for passengers as part of a broader capacity push. The new space is designed to emulate a five-star hotel lobby, with a central cocktail bar and a barista station serving locally roasted coffee. The lounge will offer rotating food and drink options linked to the airport’s surroundings, and it will include a dedicated business workspace with ample seating and private booths for calls. Construction is underway, with plans to open in early 2027, though entry prices have not been revealed. United with the airport’s existing upgraded departure lounge, the project follows recent improvements that added new restaurants, expanded duty-free options, and 30% more seating. The airport also plans to grow passenger numbers to nine million per year through new routes and aircraft, without tying the lounge to a specific airline.
