Los Gatos: Military jet flyover scheduled in remembrance of 9/11
A military jet flyover is scheduled for Friday during a Los Gatos High School football game to mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Los Gatos High School and the Town of Los Gatos will hold a remembrance ceremony at Helm Field beginning at 6:46 p.m. It will include the presentation of colors by the Los Gatos–Monte Sereno Police Department, remarks from Superintendent Heath Rocha and Mayor Rob Moore, the national anthem performed by the Los Gatos High School band, and recognition of the families of Mark Bingham and Todd Beamer. The flyover at 6:55 p.m. will feature two F-15C Eagle jets from the 144th Fighter Wing of the California Air National Guard based in Fresno. The district said the event has no cost to it. The mayor, 3 years old in 2001, emphasized the town’s personal connection through Flight 93.
