Magnite and Viasat Aviation Partner to Bring Programmatic Advertising to In-Flight Screens
Magnite and Viasat Aviation are expanding the reach of programmatic advertising by integrating ad buying into in-flight screens and Wi‑Fi. The London-based partnership, announced June 17, 2026, ties Magnite’s sell-side platform to Viasat Ads, allowing brands to bid on premium inventory across in-flight entertainment and passenger devices. Powered by Viasat’s network, the collaboration can access a global in-flight ecosystem used by more than 60 airlines on more than 4,000 aircraft. Advertisers will be able to reach travelers via seat-back screens and onboard Wi‑Fi with streamlined, brand-safe formats and measurable results.
Magnite’s programmatic infrastructure will enable real-time ad targeting by route, destination, and events across Viasat Ads inventory, linking airline media to dynamic campaigns. The partnership emphasizes scale and attention in a premium setting, where travelers spend extended periods of uninterrupted time. Leon Siotis, Magnite SVP, notes that in-flight screens and devices are among the most valuable untapped digital environments for brands seeking high engagement. Ragu Kamakshisundaram, Viasat’s VP of Media and Monetization, says advertisers can reach flying passengers instantly rather than navigating long planning cycles, combining brand-safe advertising with measurable outcomes.
