Malaysia Airlines expands China network with direct flights to Shenzhen, Changsha
Malaysia Airlines expands China network with direct flights to Shenzhen and Changsha, adding new nonstop links to strengthen connectivity between Kuala Lumpur and key Chinese cities. The airline said services bring its China destinations to nine. The KL–Shenzhen route began on July 1, with MH522 departing Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 at 9:05pm and MH523 leaving Shenzhen at 2:45am on July 2. The KL–Changsha route launched on July 8, with MH520 departing at 8:00pm and MH521 returning at 2:05am. Both routes operate up to seven times weekly using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. Malaysia Aviation Group CEO Bryan Foong said the expansion, aligned with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign and Malaysia–China visa-free arrangements, supports Kuala Lumpur’s role as a regional aviation hub, now serving Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Taipei, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Changsha.
