Man accused of sexually assaulting seatmate on flight from Kona
A man accused of sexually assaulting his seatmate on a Delta flight from Kona has been charged, according to authorities. Dominic Cortez Nichols, 31, was arrested Tuesday after the aircraft landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Court documents allege the 27-year-old woman tried to sleep with her hands between her thighs when Nichols placed his hand between hers and touched her inner thigh and pelvic area. The woman was moved to another seat after reporting the incident to a flight attendant. Nichols told Port of Seattle Police during an interview that an in-flight movie caused him to become sexually aroused, and he admitted touching the woman. Abusive sexual contact on an aircraft can bring up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine, with a detention hearing expected Wednesday.
