Man Finds $30 on the Ground, Then Learns He's Wanted by Police

A man in Albany, Georgia, who found $30 on the floor inside a Walmart and initially pocketed it learned hours later that police were looking for him. According to an Aug. 18 post by the Albany Ga Police Department on Facebook, the unnamed suspect—described as having white hair and wearing a light blue short-sleeve shirt—was captured on camera picking up the cash and reportedly not turning it in to store employees. Police asked the public to help identify him. Under Georgia law, the act was treated as theft of lost or mislaid property. The post says the man returned the money after learning he was wanted, and the victim dropped charges. Some commenters questioned why police sought him for such a small amount.
