SWISS Is Phasing Out Its A220-100: Here's How To Track It Before It's Gone

SWISS International Air Lines says it will retire its Airbus A220-100 fleet beginning in early August 2026, while continuing to operate 21 A220-300s. The carrier is removing the A220-100s as part of its response to problems tied to Pratt & Whitney engines used on the type, so those powerplants can keep the more economical -300s flying. SWISS was the A220 launch operator in 2016, and the oldest -100s are only about 10 years old, making the move notable. In its final days, just three A220-100s are expected to fly scheduled routes from Zurich (ZRH), with tail registrations HB-JBA, HB-JBF, and HB-JBI.
