Man pleads guilty to child molestation in Cherokee County

In Cherokee County, a Marietta man, 49-year-old Jarrod Luster, pleaded guilty to two counts of child molestation and was sentenced to 30 years, with the first 10 in prison and the remainder on probation with sex-offender conditions. The Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office said the investigation began in November 2023 after a 14-year-old told deputies that Luster, a close family friend, touched him when he was eight. During the probe, three more children from the same family reported similar conduct. Assistant District Attorney Meaghan Frankish described his actions as calculated and predatory. Authorities urged anyone who suspects abuse to contact Georgia Child Protective Services or call 911 if danger is immediate.
