Mandarin Airlines introduced a new aircraft for its Kaohsiung–Penghu route by operating a China Airlines Airbus A321neo on Sunday, giving passengers in southern Taiwan an early look before the plane starts international service. The flight, designated AE335, departed Kaohsiung International Airport at 10:35 a.m. and arrived at Penghu Airport at 11:20 a.m. with 235 seats on board—eight in premium economy (2-2 seating) and 227 in economy (3-3). The aircraft, registration B-18135, is among the latest A321neos delivered to China Airlines and is being added to southern Taiwan routes. Mandarin plans to bring two A321neos starting in the second half of 2027 to expand Kaohsiung regional international service, while it currently operates ATR 72-600 turboprops domestically and has a 13-aircraft fleet after completing its ATR 2.0 expansion in the first half of this year.
