Meet the Mattapan-raised pilot looking to make waves on 'The Traitors: New Blood'
Tomica Adams, a pilot with deep Boston roots, will compete on NBC’s The Traitors: New Blood. The all-civilian season offers a $250,000 prize and premieres Thursday at 8 p.m., with next-day streaming on Peacock. Adams is one of 22 contestants and serves as a captain for United Airlines, also having been a former vice chair of the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals. Raised in Mattapan, she attended Framingham South High School after her mother moved to Framingham. She says her interest in the show grew after binge-watching during ankle surgery recovery, and she describes Alan Cumming’s presence as a moment that left her “starstruck.” Adams says her pilot career helped her on the reality game by teaching her how to connect with people from different backgrounds, including making others comfortable.
