Million Bombardier Business Jet Damaged at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport
A Bombardier Global Express XRS business jet valued at about $10 million (over 700 million rubles) was damaged at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, according to the report. The aircraft, operated by airline Severo-Zapad, was being towed into a hangar when it collided with a ventilation shaft, the Baza Telegram channel said. The impact reportedly produced a 55-millimeter crack and led to deterioration of a static discharge wick, while the composite wingtip fairing showed delamination; cracks also appeared on both upper and lower panels. Although assessed as non-critical, repairs are expected to take several months, and the jet has been removed from service and is grounded. Built in 2011, it accommodates up to 19 passengers and had been based in China for much of its operational life before being acquired by a Russian company at the end of 2024.
