Missouri skydiving plane crash victims named

Victims of a Missouri skydiving plane crash near Butler Memorial Airport are beginning to be identified, as investigators piece together what happened when the Skydive Kansas City aircraft went down and burst into flames after landing in a field on Sunday around 11:30 a.m. local time, about 65 miles south of Kansas City. The flight carried 11 passengers and a pilot, and authorities have not released the full list of the dead. Some relatives and colleagues have publicly honored those lost, including Jen Sharp, identified by the United States Parachute Association as the association’s technology director, and Michael Shanahan, whose identity was disclosed by his son’s friend in a fundraiser. North Kansas City School District staff also confirmed that orchestra teacher Dave Hershberger died.
