Mother charged after 4-year-old girl shot multiple times in Walton County, according to a developing police report from Atlanta News First. Ashley Brown, 31, is in custody after officers found her 4-year-old daughter with several gunshot wounds on Thursday. Police said Brown faces charges including aggravated assault, aggravated battery, two counts of first-degree child cruelty, possession of a firearm during a felony, and discharging a firearm within 300 feet of a roadway. Around 9:45 p.m., Monroe police were called to the 700 block of Ridge Road, where they located the child. Officers transported her to Walton County medics and then escorted her to an Atlanta hospital with help from DeKalb County and Gwinnett County law enforcement. The girl is reported in serious condition in the ICU.
