Multiple bomb threats disrupt flights across Europe
At least four flights across Europe were hit by bomb threats on Tuesday after a similar incident occurred Monday, prompting airport disruptions but no confirmed devices, authorities said. A LOT flight from London bound for Warsaw’s Chopin was diverted to Modlin, which briefly closed while the plane was searched. Modlin reopened after no device was found. Another Warsaw-bound flight, an SAS aircraft from Copenhagen, landed in Warsaw as scheduled; Chopin said the airport remained operational and no device was found. In Sofia, a plane arriving from Israel landed after an email threat, with counter-terrorism units checking the aircraft for possible explosives, according to Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry. In Spain, parts of an airport in Murcia were cordoned off over a Ryanair Manchester threat, but officials said it was a hoax and operations resumed.
