New three-hour flight route connects Birmingham to year-round sunshine
Jet2 is launching new Tunisia flights and package holidays from Birmingham Airport for Summer 2027, promising a direct route in roughly three hours. The carrier will operate two weekly services from May 1 to October 30, 2027, with departures on Wednesdays and Saturdays. For travelers booking via Jet2holidays, the announcement includes accommodation options at 3- to 5-star hotels in resorts including Port el Kantaoui, Skanes, Mahdia, Sousse, Yasmine Hammamet and Hammamet. Jet2 says the destination is part of a broader Summer 27 expansion that brings Birmingham to 68 routes, including six new additions: Tunisia, Bergerac, Hurghada, Jersey, Kavala (Thassos) and Sharm el Sheikh. Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy and Birmingham Airport’s commercial chief Matthew Hazelwood said the route is now on sale, either as flight-only with Jet2.com or as a holiday package.
