New York Jets vs Las Vegas Raiders: Five Questions with Silver and Black Pride

The New York Jets host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8 of the 2026 season in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with the Raiders coming off four straight losses after starting 3-0. In an interview with Silver and Black Pride, writer Matt Holder points to an early schedule that eased Las Vegas into strong results, noting games against the Dolphins, Chargers and Saints, a combined 3-16. He also credits early defensive performance: the Raiders held Miami and Los Angeles to 13 and 14 points in the first two weeks. That changed as opponents improved, and October scoring against Las Vegas rose above 35 points per game. Holder adds that the defense has become overly dependent on turnovers, with nine in the first three games, but only three in the last four.
