Fuel storage facility catches fire in Russia after drone attack - video
A fuel storage facility in Russia's Rostov Oblast caught fire after a drone attack in the Matveyev Kurgan district, regional authorities said. Governor Yuri Slyusar said debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle caused a blaze at the facility owned by a private company supplying agricultural producers. Residents in nearby homes were evacuated as firefighting teams arrived with a fire train and began extinguishing the flames. Gas supplies to the area were cut, and authorities said the incident disrupted local utilities. Earlier, Telegram channels had reported a large oil depot burning at the site. Background notes that on the night of 30-31 May, loitering munitions attacked the Saratov oil refinery, causing a large blaze on the facility’s premises. The Rostov attack underscores a persistent drone threat in the region, with ongoing firefighting efforts as operations continue into the morning.
