NFL Called to Ban Jets Player After Dirty Hit vs. Browns
Calls for the NFL to ban Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick followed his helmet-to-helmet hit on Cleveland rookie receiver KC Concepcion, which left Concepcion ruled out with a head injury. Fans criticized Fitzpatrick after he committed two personal fouls on the same play, including a facemask penalty that pulled off Concepcion’s helmet before the hit. Social media reactions also referenced Fitzpatrick’s 2023 tackle on Pittsburgh running back Nick Chubb, which contributed to a season-ending knee injury. Chubb returned to score against the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 20, 2024, and previously said in June 2024 he did not consider Fitzpatrick’s hit “dirty.” In Sunday’s incident, Concepcion had one catch for five yards, and Denzel Boston took over punt return duties.
