Norwegian orders 30 Boeing 737 aircraft

Norwegian is expanding its existing Boeing 737 order by exercising an option for 30 additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, bringing the firm total to 80. The airline and Boeing will adjust delivery dates, with the last aircraft now scheduled for delivery in 2031. The move follows a May 2022 stock exchange notice covering a purchase of 50 737 MAX 8 jets, including an option for 30 more. Norwegian said the updated schedule supports an efficient fleet renewal aligned with lease expiries and market developments. The company highlighted benefits including quieter cabins and lower emissions, alongside lower operating costs versus previous-generation planes.
