Not a good look': Sir Rod Stewart addresses backlash over World Cup attendance
Sir Rod Stewart addressed backlash after attending a World Cup match in Boston the day after cancelling a concert due to ill health. The 81-year-old said it “wasn’t a good look” to go to Scotland’s game against Haiti, after he pulled out of a California show on June 12 hours before it was due to start, contracting laryngitis. Despite criticism after he posted a video showing himself flying with his sons Liam (31) and Alistair (20), Stewart told talkSport host Jim White that he felt he had to avoid disappointing his children. He said he promised them they would attend a World Cup if Scotland qualified and that this was the first such tournament in decades. The controversy followed public frustration from fans in San Diego, who had planned travel and time off, and commenters questioned the timing of the trip.
