One Night Only: Emirates To Operate Rare Airbus A380 Flight To Jakarta Next Weekend

Emirates will operate a rare one-off Airbus A380 flight next weekend from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International (CGK), upgrading one of its two daily services to the Indonesian capital. On August 8, 2026, the superjumbo will replace the usual Boeing 777-300ER for the Jakarta route. Jakarta expects the A380 for the first time in several years, and the charter is arranged to transport a select group of European football clubs to Indonesia as part of a pre-season tour. The A380 is the only service to Jakarta using the type, with the timing set to arrive and depart in darkness. The flight follows confirmation by InJourney Airports and aligns with the Indonesia Super Cup 2026, featuring Chelsea vs AC Milan at Gelora Bung Karno next Saturday.
