Over 627 flights delayed, 32 canceled amid widespread U.S. travel disruptions
More than 627 flights into or out of the United States were delayed as of 9:55 a.m. EST Tuesday, and over 9,799 delays were reported worldwide, according to FlightAware. The tracker also said 32 U.S. flights were canceled, alongside 414 cancellations globally. The disruptions were linked to low visibility conditions affecting airports including Chicago (ORD, MDW), the Federal Aviation Administration said, with low clouds also expected to disrupt operations in San Diego (SAN) and Los Angeles (LAX). FlightAware updates statistics in real time. Travel experts and airlines urged passengers to check flight status frequently, use airline apps with notifications, rebook promptly after cancellations, allow extra time on connections, and keep essentials accessible while reviewing refund and rebooking policies.
