Packers Get Mixed Updates on Defensive Line Pair in Concussion Protocol

Two Green Bay Packers defensive linemen—starting defensive end Lukas Van Ness and nose tackle Javon Hargrave—are in the concussion protocol. Van Ness entered on Monday and was limited in practice on Wednesday, then practiced in pads and did individual work during the media-visible portion of Thursday. Hargrave entered on Wednesday but was kept out of practice entirely on Thursday. Both concussions are believed to stem from contact during Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings, with ESPN’s Rob Demovsky noting symptoms can appear with delay. The Packers also had defensive tackle Warren Brinson miss practice with a calf injury dating back to mid-preseason in August. Availability ahead of Sunday’s game at the New York Jets appears mixed.
