Iran’s strikes on more than two dozen U.S. bases in the Middle East concentrated on early-warning systems before hitting aircraft and buildings, according to an Associated Press analysis. The AP independently verified damage to American targets with satellite imagery from multiple providers and spoke with four regional officials briefed or with firsthand knowledge. Through August, it found more than 115 drone or missile strikes claimed by Iran or Iranian-backed militias damaged or destroyed structures on 26 military bases and other sites with U.S. equipment. The report says Iran initially targeted hangars and detection systems, reshaping the U.S. footprint and raising questions about defenses as President Donald Trump weighs new strikes after Tuesday’s midterms.
