Palm Beach airport name change after President Trump coming soon
Palm Beach International Airport is set to be renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, with the change scheduled to take effect July 9, 2026. The airport says the new IATA code DJT will become effective on Aug. 18, 2026, replacing PBI for reservations, ticketing, baggage tags, and related platforms once the transition is complete. The name change follows state authorization: Gov. Ron DeSantis signed HB919 on March 30, allowing Florida to rename major commercial service airports. The Florida Senate approved the bill 25-11, while the Florida House passed it 81-30, and the measure becomes law July 1. The article also notes earlier local action by Palm Beach County commissioners on March 5 approving a trademark deal and a new logo. While transition activities will occur in phases, airport operations and services are expected to continue without interruption.
