Plane Crashes In Ecuador After Skidding Off Runway In Harrowing Video

A small Cessna 208 crash in Ecuador turned into a dramatic scene on a busy highway after the aircraft skidded off the runway at Mariscal Lamar Airport in Cuenca. Video captured the plane cresting a hill before coming down onto the road below, bouncing over uneven terrain and stopping across the roadway. First responders rushed in, and the street was cordoned off. The flight, reportedly arriving from Guayaquil, had about two people on board, and Ecuador’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation said both were alive and in stable condition. The airport briefly closed to air traffic, then resumed later in the day.
