Plane passenger who put earring spike through sleeve in armrest row speaks out
A dispute over armrests on a Delta flight escalated after Kadia Tubman said her neighbor’s arm repeatedly rubbed her during turbulence and while she tried to sleep. Tubman filed a complaint with cabin crew, describing that she initially allowed him to use the shared armrest because he was working and kept her arm off it. After multiple reminders, she claims he continued to wake her, so she pushed the spike of her earring through her sleeve as a barrier, arguing he would have to be extremely close to be poked. Tubman said Otto threatened to involve his lawyer and called the earring a “weapon.” Otto, who shared photos online, said the earring “stabbed” him during turbulence and later reported it after landing. The accounts conflict, and they both describe cabin crew involvement differently.
