Police issue update as dad-of-three dies after being restrained on Jet2 flight
Police issued an update after a father of three, Callum Kerr, died hours after being restrained on a Jet2 flight. Greater Manchester Police said they were called around 2:25am on Monday, June 22, after reports that a passenger and a crew member had been assaulted aboard the plane from Larnaca, Cyprus, to Manchester. Officers arrived to find Kerr restrained by passengers and aircrew at the rear of the aircraft; they used handcuffs and provided first aid, then identified him as unresponsive and began CPR. He was taken to hospital and died on Tuesday afternoon, June 23. Police stated a mandatory referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and emphasized it was not due to any indication of misconduct. Jet2 previously confirmed the flight LS966 requested priority landing due to a disruptive passenger incident.
