Private jet evacuated as smoke pours out and plane veers off runway
A private jet carrying 11 people was evacuated after an emergency landing at Toluca International Airport near Mexico City, following an electrical failure during touchdown. The crew on flight XA-CBQ reported electrical problems affecting the aircraft’s steering and braking systems, and at 12:04 p.m. local time the jet veered off the runway. Airport staff activated emergency procedures, deployed fire and rescue services, and other authorities responded as smoke billowed from the aircraft on the runway. Toluca International Airport said none of the nine passengers and two crew members were injured. The runway was temporarily closed while the plane was removed and safety checks were completed. Investigators have not confirmed the aircraft type, though outlets suggested a Gulfstream G200.
