QantasLink’s first Embraer E190, VH-E9A “Exmouth,” has completed a 20-hour delivery flight from Norwich, UK to Perth, Western Australia—an unusual route that took the aircraft across Europe, Central Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia. The jet previously operated for KLM Cityhopper under tail number PH-EZC. Qantas says VH-E9A is the first of up to 14 mid-life E190s that will progressively replace Network Aviation’s aging Fokker 100 fleet. The ferry operation ran across six sectors from Norwich to Sofia, Dushanbe, Kolkata, Johor Bahru, Broome and finally Perth, with the aircraft parked in Perth on September 7.
