Raiders and Jets will try to stop struggles and quiet some outside noise when they square off Sunday
xCruzo Brief
The Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) and New York Jets (2-5) meet Sunday at MetLife Stadium as both try to reverse troubling stretches and reduce mounting criticism. After a surprising 3-0 start, Las Vegas has lost four straight. Some fans have urged rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, the No. 1 overall pick in April, but coach Klint Kubiak said Kirk Cousins will stay under center, noting the veteran leads the NFL with 16 touchdown passes. The Jets are coming off a 28-25 home loss to winless Miami, leaving concern around Aaron Glenn’s 5-19 record. Geno Smith faces his former team; New York ranks 23rd in yards per game.
