REMEMBERED | Flight 93 morning ceremony offers somber observance for attendees

A somber morning ceremony at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, marked the 25th anniversary of the attack on United Airlines Flight 93. Donald Braund attended in Marine Corps tradition, holding a U.S. flag and wearing his hat over his heart during the moment of silence. He said he returned because it was the 25th anniversary, bringing the Stars and Stripes in honor of his late friend, Vietnam War veteran Dave Nangle. The Pennsylvania Quintet performed between the toll of bells, and the names of all 40 passengers and crew were read aloud. Family members, including people dressed in black or patriotic colors, gathered at the Wall of Names.
