Roll The Tape: Why The Eagles' New Offense Is A Bad Fit For QB Jalen Hurts

Philadelphia’s struggles have piled up around QB Jalen Hurts, and this week’s film-focused analysis argues the current Eagles offense is a poor match for him. With the team starting 2-3, the offense ranks near the bottom across major statistical categories. The running game is described as anemic, while the passing attack has appeared inconsistent under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Injuries and departures—including A.J. Brown, Lane Johnson, and others—are cited as reasons the unit lacks its former “overwhelm” identity. The piece says the Eagles are leaning on a wide-receiver-by-committee approach led by borderline WR1 DeVonta Smith, with contributions expected from Dallas Goedert, as Barkley’s limited availability adds pressure.
