RT-Engels: Russia and Tanzania launch direct flights (VIDEO)
RT-Engels: Russia and Tanzania launch direct flights expand connectivity between the two countries, with the first scheduled Air Tanzania service landing in Moscow on Thursday. The inaugural flight arrived at Vnukovo Airport carrying 123 passengers, while 144 were booked for the return journey. The route connects Dar es Salaam, Moscow (Vnukovo), and Zanzibar with up to three weekly Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights, taking about 8.5 hours for Moscow–Zanzibar. Air Tanzania’s new authorization followed intergovernmental consultations, with Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) granting approval. Deputy Transport Minister Vladimir Poteshkin said the link could broaden travel options and support tourism. The Moscow–Tanzania connection also positions Air Tanzania as the only airline offering direct scheduled passenger flights between the two nations currently.
