Community members gathered Friday at the Chinatown Night Market, 25 years after the events, to remember her courage. A song tribute was played for Ong, who grew up in Chinatown and later became a flight attendant. On September 11, she called authorities and stayed on the line for 23 minutes, calmly relaying what was happening onboard before the aircraft crashed into the North Tower. Her call helped prompt other flights to be grounded.
