Sofia Gets New Direct Flights to Palermo and Tirana

Wizz Air is adding two new direct routes from Sofia to Palermo, Italy, and Tirana, Albania, expanding its network in Bulgaria. The first flights on both connections departed on July 4, 2026, with tickets available via the airline’s website and mobile app from €19.99 for Palermo and €24.99 for Tirana. Wizz Air says the Palermo service will give travelers access to Sicily’s capital, citing attractions such as Palermo Cathedral, the Norman Palace and Palatine Chapel, and Teatro Massimo, along with local markets. The Tirana route is positioned as easier access to Albania’s capital, with stops including Skanderbeg Square, Etem Bey Mosque, and the Blok district.
