Southwest Just Announced 9 New Routes: See All Nonstop Flights Now [Map]

Southwest Airlines has added nine new and returning routes to its network, with details surfaced by Enilria on X. The update comes as the carrier launches its 20-route expansion in early June, with seven routes starting June 4 and 13 more on June 6, including Southwest's longest nonstop service within the Lower 48. New markets include Buffalo to Miami International (MIA), Columbus to San Juan, Rochester to Fort Lauderdale, Indianapolis to West Palm Beach (PBI), Manchester to Fort Myers, Portland, Maine to Fort Myers, Providence to Sarasota, and Pittsburgh to PBI. Several of these routes replace existing service or fill unserved gaps in leisure markets.

Cirium Diio data shows four of the eight markets are currently served only by Breeze Airways, with American Airlines operating MIA-Buffalo seasonally and Allegiant resuming Rochester-Fort Lauderdale seasonally. Notably, Columbus to San Juan and Indianapolis to PBI currently lack nonstop service from other carriers, underscoring the Puerto Rico link as a notable addition. DOT data show about 53,000 indirect passengers on the Columbus–San Juan route last year. Southwest will also add an international link from Nashville to Liberia, Costa Rica, starting February 13 with weekly flights, expanding its leisure‑oriented network beyond the domestic market.
