Teen's Phone Video Helps Convict Father Who Touched Her on JetBlue Flight With His Family Aboard

A Massachusetts federal jury convicted 48-year-old Jonathan Alan Lefman of abusive sexual contact after a 17-year-old passenger used her phone to document repeated unwanted touching on a JetBlue flight. The verdict, delivered on 16 October 2026, followed a three-day trial tied to an incident aboard a JetBlue route from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Boston on 30 August 2024. Prosecutors said Lefman reached through the seat gap and touched the teen’s buttocks without permission, including while the aircraft was on the ground. Evidence included video recorded during the flight and as passengers exited. Lefman was arrested in February 2025 and indicted in March 2025. Sentencing is set for 12 January 2027.
