The Latest: Flights diverted in Europe over bomb threats

Flights across Europe were diverted or forced into emergency landings Thursday after bomb threats, authorities said, with inspections so far finding no hazardous or suspicious materials. The incidents followed earlier hoax threats that triggered searches, diversions, and in one case a military escort. More than a dozen flights were targeted, including routes involving Copenhagen, Dublin, Helsinki, Madrid, Milan, and Warsaw. In one reported development, an email threat sent to Rome-bound flights was attributed to a self-described anti-feminist group, though it was unclear whether multiple threats came from the same source. Estonia’s foreign minister Margus Tsahkna said he had no information on who was behind the series. Aegean Airlines confirmed two of its threats were hoaxes.
