The worst airports in Spain for EES delays, according to Ryanair

Ryanair has identified the airports in Europe it says are worst placed to handle delays linked to the EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES), warning of significant disruption for travelers entering Spain. The Dublin-based carrier named seven popular airports for Brits, including four in Spain: Tenerife South, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca and Malaga, which it says are struggling since the system began earlier this year. The remaining airports are Bergamo in Italy, Krakow in Poland and Paris Beauvais in France. Ryanair attributed the problem to insufficient staffing and kiosks, arguing that high passenger volumes could generate long queues during the summer peak. The EES replaces passport stamps with biometric facial recognition and fingerprint scans and applies to non-EU citizens, including British travelers, at Schengen borders.
