Tragic end as dad dies after being restrained on flight
A tragic death followed reports of aggressive behavior on a Jet2 flight from Cyprus to the UK, after a father-of-three was restrained by passengers and cabin crew. Callum Kerr, 35, boarded Jet2 flight LS966 from Larnaca to Manchester on June 21 with his girlfriend, and was allegedly disruptive toward airline staff and other travellers during the trip. A witness told Manchester Evening News that Kerr’s conduct became hostile after he drank a significant amount of alcohol before take-off. Greater Manchester Police said officers arrived at Manchester Airport at 2:25 a.m. on June 22 and found him restrained at the rear of the aircraft before he was detained in handcuffs. Shortly after, officers realized he was unresponsive and provided CPR, but he was rushed to hospital and died on June 23. Police referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and noted submissions included reports of assaults on a passenger and a crew member.
