Trump says Canada's Bombardier cannot sell in US unless it builds there

President Donald Trump said Monday that Bombardier, a Canada-based aircraft maker, cannot sell in the United States unless it starts manufacturing there. Trump made the remarks in a post on Truth Social, writing “NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES!” and claiming the products are not good enough, while adding that access to the U.S. market requires building in the country. Bombardier did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The statement also lands in the context of an ongoing trade dispute between Canada and the United States over aircraft certification. In January, Trump said the U.S. was decertifying Bombardier Global Express business jets and threatened 50% import tariffs on aircraft made in Canada until Canada’s regulator certified planes produced by U.S. rival Gulfstream; neither happened, but Canada certified several Gulfstream planes the following month.
