Trump threatens to ban U.S. sales of Bombardier's Canadian-built jets unless production moves stateside

President Donald Trump said Monday that Canada-based aircraft maker Bombardier would not be allowed to sell in the United States unless it begins manufacturing in the country. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES,” and criticized the company’s products, adding that if it wants access to the U.S. market it must “build here.” The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The remarks come amid an ongoing U.S.-Canada trade dispute involving business jets, after Trump in January said the U.S. was decertifying Bombardier Global Express aircraft and threatened 50% import tariffs on Canadian-made aircraft, though neither action proceeded; in February, Canada certified several Gulfstream planes.
