A Washington Post report says President Donald Trump secretly left Turkey after last month’s NATO summit in Ankara by switching to an alternate military aircraft, while the White House arranged for it to look like he was traveling on Air Force One. The newspaper attributes the operation to a reported Iranian assassination threat and cites materials reviewed, including a U.S. official familiar with the plan. Trump, who had arrived in a retrofitted Qatar-gifted jet, initially boarded an older baby-blue Air Force One in view of cameras for a flight to Royal Air Force Mildenhall in the UK. Minutes later, he was transferred covertly to an Air Force C-32A via an airport catering truck and flew to Mildenhall on that smaller aircraft. The Secret Service declined comment; the White House cited security protocols.
