Two Men Handcuffed to Seats After Allegedly Threatening Passengers on Flight
Two men were reportedly handcuffed to their seats after allegedly threatening passengers aboard a Qatar Airways flight from Australia to Qatar. The incident occurred Friday on flight VA7, which departed Melbourne bound for Doha. Witnesses told Australian media the men acted agitated shortly after boarding, repeatedly standing up, moving through the cabin, and rummaging through luggage. Roughly six hours before landing, the situation allegedly escalated into a fight, during which the men threatened passengers and crew, including claims that one had a gun. Video circulated online showing flight attendants struggling to restrain them, with at least six people needed to help subdue each man. Qatar Airways said both were restrained and arrested upon arrival in Doha. The case follows a separate disruption last week involving another unruly passenger on an American Airlines flight.
