Two more of Brad Pitt's kids want to ditch his surname
Two more of Brad Pitt’s children are asking the court to drop his surname, court filings in California show. Zahara, 21, and Maddox, 24, requested the removal of “Pitt” from their legal names for personal reasons. The filings are part of the continuing, high-profile legal dispute between Pitt and Angelina Jolie, which followed their separation and divorce process that concluded at the end of 2024. Despite the divorce settlement, the pair remains involved in litigation over Château Miraval, the French winery they previously owned together. Zahara’s application was submitted electronically to the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles last month, changing her name from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie. Maddox sought permission to remove Pitt from his double-barreled name at the end of May. Both placed weekly notices in the Los Angeles Daily Journal during June and July to allow objections; a ruling is expected in mid-September for Maddox and at the end of the month for Zahara.
