World Cup demand pushes price of private jet charters up 30 per cent
World Cup demand is pushing up the price of private jet charters in the US, with increases of up to 30% reported on certain routes. Atlas Jet Charter co-founder Connor Millar said business aviation activity has risen sharply during the tournament, with demand on key knockout-stage routes reaching as much as three times normal levels. Popular travel flows included flights from Miami to Atlanta for England’s quarter-final-to-semi matchups, and onward from Atlanta to New York for the final, with other interest drawn from cities such as Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto and Mexico City. Millar attributed the pricing jump to strong demand, limited aircraft availability, repositioning costs, airport slot restrictions, and event-related operating fees. Consequences extended beyond World Cup travel, tightening non-tournament availability and lifting costs.
