Types: Inside This ACMI Operator's Long-Term Fleet Plan
The long-term fleet plan at euroAtlantic Airways is the central theme, with CEO Pauls Calitis laying out how the operator intends to grow in the widebody ACMI market while maintaining operational discipline. Speaking at the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro earlier in June, Calitis described a strategy built on combining an expanding Airbus footprint with continued Boeing operations. The airline, known for ACMI and charter services that include aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance, is also monitoring opportunities for next-generation aircraft. Calitis linked his approach to lessons from his more than three-decade career at airBaltic, including roles through flight operations and executive leadership. He said euroAtlantic is shifting from short-term capacity fill-ins toward long-term partner relationships with customers. The company’s widebody focus includes Boeing 767s and 777s and increasing use of Airbus A330s.
