Typhoon Champi continues to disrupt flights and ferries across Taiwan
Typhoon Champi is disrupting air and sea travel across Taiwan as it moves over the island on Oct. 24. Taiwanese carriers including Starlux Airlines, Tigerair Taiwan, EVA Air and China Airlines cancelled or delayed flights scheduled for Oct. 24, with disruptions extending beyond routes to Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. Starlux scrapped its Taoyuan-to-Jakarta service and cancelled all flights in and out of Taichung; other routes from Taoyuan to Clark, Kobe and Ho Chi Minh City face delays. Tigerair Taiwan cancelled a large share of its Japan network and suspended Taiwan–Jeju flights. EVA Air and China Airlines issued rolling changes up to midday. Maritime authorities halted six ferry routes, including two crossings to Fuzhou in mainland China.
